Createx Textile Colours can be applied right out of the bottle. Createx Textile Colours brilliance and ease of application make them a desirable medium for textile artists and crafts people.

Application
Wash fabric to remove sizing. Avoid using fabric treated with water repellent. Avoid heavy paint build up and excessive layering. The Createx Textile Standard Colours are best for white or light coloured fabrics. The Createx Textile Pearlescent and Iridescent colours may be used on dark coloured fabrics. Water can be added (up to 15%) to thin if desired.

Apply Createx Textile Colors directly to natural or synthetic fabrics. Apply with brush, or screenprinting, stamps, blocks, sponge, squirt bottle, roller etc, Stiff Brushes work best on fabric but sponge brushes can be used.

Transparent Extender

The Createx Textile Transparent Extender can be mixed with colours to produce subtle or transparent shades. Adding Createx Textile White will produce pastel opaque colours
Heat setting
For permanence: allow paint to thoroughly dry (2-24 hours) before heatsetting. Heatset by either of the following methods:

  1. Iron on reverse side for 1 minute at appropriate fabric setting. Keep iron moving.

  2. Conveyer dryer: 180 degrees C for 3 minutes

Terms and Techniques
Soft Hand - refers to the texture and softness of the fabric
Heat Set - making colours permanent on fabrics
Transparency - the ability of a colour to allow us to see through it
Opacity - the ability of a colour to not allow us to see through it

Trouble Shooting
Problem: Colour wipes off!
Suggestion: Avoid excessive paint build up Do not use fabrics treated with water repellent. Colour is not strong enough!
Remember the standard colour are best on white or light coloured fabrics
Remember to heatset after painting textiles! Make sure fabric is completely dry before heatsetting
Note:
Always pre-test on a small piece of the same fabric before starting a project. No Warranty can be made due to difference in individual application.
