‘Yacaaba at Dusk’

Watercolour paint on watercolour paper and silk thread. From a Port Stephens series of small watercolours. Finalist in 2021 FLOW National Contemporary Watercolour Prize at Wollongong Art Gallery. I should have called it Yacaaba Head at Dusk.

Artist statement:

Our memories live in the feelings expressed in the visual arts. I started this series of watercolours at Port Stephens, NSW, when I visited my sister in law at Tomaree National Park and Shoal Bay. Yacaaba Head is the view from her home. After she died recently I recorded the going down of the sun on that view from Shoal Bay.
