Winner, Arts & Cultural Achievement Award

I am proud of the Visual Arts Community in the City of Wollongong and the Illawarra. We work together to create significant visual art works. thanks to you all. I especially acknowledge my TAFE teacher and friend Ian Gentle.

Citation,

Judy is an artist, teacher and arts advocate whose contribution has spanned more than 50 years. She has exhibited her work locally, regionally, and internationally, and is a founding member of the Illawarra Association for the Visual Arts, President of the Barracks Art Studios Thirroul and helped ensure the revival and survival of the city’s Project Contemporary Art Gallery.

 UOW Alumni Judy Bourke received Arts and Cultural Achievement Award.  Ms Bourke graduated from UOW in 1988 and has been instrumental in the Illawarra’s artistic life. She is a founding member of the Illawarra Association for the Visual Arts, President of the Barracks Art Studios Thirroul and helped ensure the revival and survival of the city’s contemporary art gallery, Project Contemporary Artspace.
